This week, fightCOtwo welcomes DNV to our project sites for field validation under VERRA’s Verified Carbon Standard. The visit marks an important step toward certification – ensuring that every part of the Boreal Mix project is transparent, measurable, and verified by independent experts.
Preserving Swedish forests with high natural value is not only a matter of care for nature – it’s about creating real, lasting impact. At fightCOtwo, our path to credibility is clear: everything we do must be open to scrutiny, measurable, and confirmed by independent experts.
Over the past year, we have invested time, capital, and dedication to certify our project under VERRA’s Verified Carbon Standard (VCS) – a global hallmark for high-quality climate projects. Our aim is to offer the market a robust and verifiable project with low risk and high environmental integrity, where carbon storage, biodiversity, and social values go hand in hand.
As a key part of this process, we have chosen to collaborate with DNV (Det Norske Veritas) – one of the world’s most recognized and trusted validation bodies. DNV’s mission is to carry out a comprehensive validation of the project, testing methodology, data, and results in detail.
This week, field visits are taking place in our forests, where verification is conducted on-site against international standards. This marks an important step in our work to preserve Swedish forests with high natural value – while providing landowners with a financial model that promotes long-term sustainable management. It also means that Swedish forests will soon be able to contribute on the global stage – with genuine, verified climate benefits and measurable outcomes for biodiversity.

Region Jämtland Härjedalen highlights fightCOtwo’s work with climate-positive forestry. By combining long-term forest care with digital mapping tools, Swedish forests are managed to capture more carbon and preserve biodiversity.
On a property under agreement with fightCOtwo for Boreal Mix, continuous efforts to add dead wood in a stream have shown rapid ecological benefits. An electrofishing survey revealed that young fish thrive among the branches and logs—finding both food and shelter. A simple action with lasting impact.
